Four villains in ‘Maatraan’ – Suriya against Suriya!

There are a total number of four villains in Suriya’s forthcoming venture ‘Maatran’ and one among them, interestingly, is Suriya himself. The other three are Milind Soman, Daniel Balaji and Veera of ‘Nadunisi Naaygal’ fame!
“If one would closely look at the three names, they could find a Gautham Vasudev Menon link. While Milind Soman is the baddie of ‘Pachaikili Muthucharam’, Daniel is that of ‘Vettaiyadu Vilayadu’, and Veera was part of ‘Nadunisi Naaygal’,” point out sources.
“This is because of Suriya’s close rapport with Gautham. Both are good friends and had worked together in ‘Kaakka Kaakka’ and ‘Varanam Aayiram’. Suriya, who was impressed with the performance of the three actors, wanted them to cross swords with him in Maatraan,” add sources.
Directed by K V Anand, the film which has Kajal Aggarwal opposite Suriya is produced by Kalpathi S Aghoram of AGS Entertainment. Shooting is almost over and Anand is planning to release the movie during summer.

Director Venkat Prabhu who is red hot after Mankatha success, is one busy man these days. The director is busy giving finishing touches to his next film with Suriya in the lead produced under Studio Green banner.
The script writing work is going on at a brisk pace and Venkat is fine tuning it all before the next stage.
For both Suriya and Venkat fans, the curiosity levels are already high about how what the movie is going to be about. Says Venkat, “It will be an action film but has humour as well. It will bring out the other side of Suriya. After all we have all seen his humourous side in Pithamagan.”
And the icing on the cake is, the presence of not one but three heroines in the film! Venkat confirms, “Yes there will be more than one heroine, maybe three of them. There will most probably be new faces.”
Given his penchant for casting several heroines in his films, this news is going to raise the interest levels even further in the film
Hari roped in Suriya & Anushka

The hit combo of Suriya and Hari is back along with Anushka. Singham team is back to work for one more film together.
Director Hari said “I’m happy to work with Suriya again and eagerly waiting to start our new project.” But the director has not confirmed whether the film is a sequel to Singam. It is touted that this untitled movie will be remade in Bollywood starring Ajay Devgan.
Director Hari’s yet-to-be-titled movie casts Santhanam for the comic role while Suriya and Anushka will be shaking legs for the tracks composed by Devi Sri Prasad. Suriya is presently busy with the film Maatraan with Kajal Agarwal as his love interest, whereas Anushka is busy with back to back movies in Kollywood and Tollywood.
Suriya not in Businessman remake

The Tamil Nadu distribution rights of Tollywood star Mahesh Babu’s Businessman has been obtained by producer Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green.
The film is slated for a January 13 release to coincide with the Sankranthi festival. Kajal Agarwal plays Mahesh’s love interest.
The huge success of Prince’s earlier flick Dookudu in Tamil territories has created a new market for the star in TN.
Businessman has the hit combo of Mahesh Babu and Puri Jagannath, whose earlier film Pokkiri had a record success at the BO and was remade in Tamil and other languages.
Sources inform that Gnanavel Raja has also bought the remake rights of Businessman. Studio Green being the home banner of the hot K’town siblings Suriya and Karthi, Gnanavel is expected to remakeBusinessman with Suriya in the lead — if the Telugu movie is a hit!
However when Gnanavel was contacted by DC, he denied acquiring the remake rights. “First of all, I did not buyBusinessman’s remake rights. Moreover, when Suriya’s market in Andhra Pradesh is as huge as that of a Tollywood star, there are remote chances of me remaking a Telugu film with him in the lead.”

AGS officals : Maatraan will hit the screens only by June. The shooting is
progressing well and we are planning to pack up by March. It will take another 2-3 months for post production works like Editing, Dubbing, Graphics work, re-recording and final mixing. We don’t want to rush for the release and we are giving more importance to perfection and quality of the film.

Hari leaves Suriya and moves to Vishal
Singam 2, the hugely awaited sequel to Singam with the same Suriya and Hari team has been dropped. Apparently, some difficulties cropped up and the project was scrapped. Suriya and Hari have agreed to work together in future if something suitable comes along.
In the meantime, Hari has decided to go ahead and make a film with Vishal. The script has been finalized and Hari is anxious to get started with his Sandakozhi hero.
Maatran Gets Costly

Perhaps, a small budget movie can be produced at this cost. Of course, it’s a different deal when the song carries such grandiloquences. Suriya’s ‘Maatran’ is getting bigger as the producers of AGS Entertainments are sure as shooting stars with the ‘Ayan’ combination of Suriya, K.V. Anand and Harris Jayaraj.
The film’s first schedule was shot across the locales of Russia that includes songs and action sequences. Now a grand set worth Rs 1.5Crores was erected in AVM Studios that featured Suriya, Kajal Agarwal and Bollywood actress Isha Sharwani.
Brinda has choreographed the song and it will be on the lines of ‘Honey Honey’ from Ayan and Harris Jayaraj has composed the track.

Maattrraan song is currently being shot in AVM studios. Maattrraan has been a closely guarded secret since the beginning with so many rumors flying around about Suriya’s much anticipated role in this movie. A song is now being shot behind tight
security with no one allowed to walk into the sets without proper identification. Our persistent insider reporter was able to gather a few breaking news about the movie first on MovieCrow.
*Surya and Kajal Agarwal are sporting some stylish get-ups in the song. There are 30 dancers from Bombay dancing in an extravagant set. But, Hindi actress Isha Sherwani of Viswaroopam and Luck by Chance fame was also spotted prominently in the song.

Maatraan team is a predicament because of MD Harris Jayaraj who is not able to makeup the songs at time. He is busy with his “On the Edge” tour and his upcoming albums, one prepared to release and another preparing to release. The dancers from Mumbai are waiting for the song from Harris so that the choreographers can start rehearsing the dance moves before the shoot. The shoot of one song has started today in Chennai which is progressing smoothly.
