Eros International Media Ltd. has acquired the Tamil theatrical rights for the KV Anand directed Maatran. The film stars Suriya, Kajal Aggarwal, Vivek, Sachin Khedekhar and Isha Sharvani. Produced by AGS Entertainment, the film has been widely shot in Pakistan borders, Jodhpur, Maharashtra, Hyderabad, Russia, Croatia, Serbia, Albania and Macedonia.
Commenting on the acquisition, Sunil Lulla, Managing Director, Eros International said that with Maatraan, Eros continues to explore and establish its presence in the regional film markets. He also added, “The film promises to be one of its kind action thrillers and we are happy to associate with AGS Entertainment Private Limited to release this much awaited film with the hugely popular Suriya”.
Kalpathi S. Aghoram, Director, AGS Entertainment said, “There exists a huge potential for AGS Entertainment and Eros International to synergize given our experience in Tamil film production and their global presence with content spread across most leading Indian languages.”

Suriya’s sequel to begin

Suriya is all set to do his first sequel. He will once again don the cap of an upright police officer with Singam 2, which will be directed by Hari. The film will be the sequel of his block buster film, Singam by the same director. This is the fourth film that Suriya will be doing with director Hari.
Earlier the duo had worked together in Aaru, Vel and Singam. It is expected that Suriya will start shooting for the film in June after completing his Matraan with KV Anand. Anushka and Hansika will be the heroines in the film and Vivek, Nassar, Radha Ravi and Vijayakumar will also be featured. The music will be by Devi Sri Prasad who rocked in Singam with his foot tapping music. Priyan will handle the camera.

In India, one more milestone in visual effects, happened today, i.e, Performance Capture (Facial) for Maatraan. It was made possible by team Maatraan. Delay in Maatran

The thundering combination of K.V. Anand and Suriya struck gold in box office for the producers with its previous movie ‘Ayan’. The duo combo back again to make an impressive show and that’s ‘Maatran’. The film has been shot extensively across the virgin locations of Russia and many more scenic places.
Earlier plans were to release the film somewhere in April and May and now the producers seem to have changed their plans. According to the inside reports, the film’s release date is scheduled between April and June due to Tamil Film Producers Council.

Suriya’s Singam was a tremendous blockbuster and now the same duo combo is back to blow the trumpets of success. Director Hari according to the sources has penned a script that is so engrossing for Singam-2 that will surely grab everyone’s interest.
Earlier buzzes were that Amala Paul has been signed for the female lead character and later Anushka replaced her with accordance to the factors of ‘Singam’ success. And now, it’s Hansika Motwani joining the team.
Within short span of time, Hansika Motwani has signed more projects including Vijay’s Velayudham, Jeyam Ravi’s Engeyum Kadhal, and Dhanush in Mappillai and now with producer Udhayanidhi Stalin in Oru Kal Oru Kannadi. Suriya onscreen chemistry with almost all the actresses have been best and for sure, this isn’t going to be an exception.

Following Ayan and Ko, his upcoming film Maatran starring Suriya and Kajal Agarwal in lead roles is shot across exotic locales of Russia and USA. Studio Green has signed up director Shantha Kumar of Mouna Guru fame. The director’s one liner for his next has impressed the production house that he is reported to be signed up. Since Studio Green’s Gnanavel Raja is a close relative of the Siva Kumar family, there are expectations that either Suriya or Karthi may be signed up for this project.
Shantha Kumar’s maiden venture Mouna Guru earned him a good reputation in Kollywood and the director is looking forward to team up with an established star.

Four villains in ‘Maatraan’ – Suriya against Suriya!

There are a total number of four villains in Suriya’s forthcoming venture ‘Maatran’ and one among them, interestingly, is Suriya himself. The other three are Milind Soman, Daniel Balaji and Veera of ‘Nadunisi Naaygal’ fame!
“If one would closely look at the three names, they could find a Gautham Vasudev Menon link. While Milind Soman is the baddie of ‘Pachaikili Muthucharam’, Daniel is that of ‘Vettaiyadu Vilayadu’, and Veera was part of ‘Nadunisi Naaygal’,” point out sources.
“This is because of Suriya’s close rapport with Gautham. Both are good friends and had worked together in ‘Kaakka Kaakka’ and ‘Varanam Aayiram’. Suriya, who was impressed with the performance of the three actors, wanted them to cross swords with him in Maatraan,” add sources.
Directed by K V Anand, the film which has Kajal Aggarwal opposite Suriya is produced by Kalpathi S Aghoram of AGS Entertainment. Shooting is almost over and Anand is planning to release the movie during summer.
